Obama reaches Rashtrapati Bhawan, receives Guard of Honour

New Delhi, Jan 25 (ANI): US President Barack Obama on Sunday reached the Rashtrapati Bhawan and was given a ceremonial reception by President Pranab Mukherjee. President Obama was accorded a ceremonial reception at the forecourt of the Rashtrapati Bhavan, with a grand welcome ceremony followed by the Guard of Honour, where the battalion was led by a woman officer. The US President also received a 21-gun salute. National anthems of both nations were also played to welcome the President. President Obama also then, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers Manohar Parrikar, Arun Jaitley, Venkaiah Naidu, Sushma Swaraj and Rajnath Singh, along with Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung. US officials review security in Agra ahead of Obama's visit

Agra, Jan 24 (ANI): US security officials visited city of Taj Mahal in Uttar Pradesh to review various aspects ahead of the visit of US President Barack Obama. The US President, along with first lady Michelle Obama, will arrive in New Delhi on January 25 on invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for Republic Day celebrations on January 26. The members stayed for hours and interacted with officials regarding security preparations in Agra city. Officials paid visit to the local Sarojini Naidu Medical College to have a look at the trauma centre and other facilities. Kumar added all arrangements, including the critical care ambulance, are in place. Agra is set to become a fortress ahead of Obama's visit on January 27. Naidu also said that the Central government is not in favour of resorting to ordinances but the Opposition should also let the Parliament function properly to keep holding debates and discussions. Politicos react after Arun Jaitley hit at Censor Board on resignation of its members

New Delhi, Jan 18 (ANI): Political leaders reacted on Sunday over the controversy of Censor Board members resigning alleging corruption and interference from government, after which Finance Minister Arun Jaitley wrote an article defending the government. Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu said that there is no interference from government into the work of Censor Board. BJP Spokesperson Sambit Patra also said that Congress party interfered in the Censor Board's work. AAP leader Ashutosh, however, criticized the BJP government for putting blames on UPA government.
