Uttar Pradesh/ Madhya Pradesh, Feb 27 (ANI): Devout Hindus revelled in the festive spirit as thousands of them thronged temples and congregated at the banks of holy rivers across India on Thursday to celebrate festival of Mahashivratri, also known as Lord Shiva's wedding anniversary, with religious fervour. The pilgrims and devout Hindus chanted holy words as they took holy bathe in the sacred Triveni Sangam, in Allahabad city of Uttar Pradesh. The magnificently decorated temples in the holy town of Ayodhya also witnessed crowd of devotees. The Mahakaleshwar Temple of Ujjain city in Madhya Pradesh immersed into devotional spirit of prayer and worship on the occasion. Feb 27, 2014
