Mukteswar Dance Festival attracts tourists in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Jan 17 (ANI): Tourists from across the world thronged Bhubaneswar city which hosted a three-day annual traditional dance festival this week. Classical Odissi dancers perform in the backdrop of the ancient Mukteswar temple. Named after the temple, the annual Mukteswar Dance Festival is very popular among foreign tourists who come here to witness India’s traditional dance forms. The festival featured both male and female performances in solos, duets and groups, in the backdrop of the 9th-10th century Mukteswar temple which was lit, giving the dances an eerie yet heavenly feel. Japanese foreign minister meets PM Modi in New Delhi

New Delhi, Jan 16 (ANI): Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday at the start of a two-day trip aimed at boosting ties between Asia's second and third largest economies. Kishida's trip comes on the heels of the crushing win of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in national polls last month and a visit by Modi to Japan last year. Kishida arrived in New Delhi on Friday to co-chair the eighth India-Japan Strategic Dialogue with his Indian counterpart Sushma Swaraj on Saturday. Bhutan PM Tobgay visits Buddhist pilgrimage centre Sarnath in Uttar Pradesh

Sarnath, Jan 16 (ANI): Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay visited the Buddhist pilgrimage centre Sarnath in Uttar Pradesh on Friday. Tobgay visited Sarnath Archaeological Museum, which houses the findings and excavations at the archaeological site of Sarnath. The main attraction of the museum is Ashoka pillar which is the national emblem of India. Sarnath, located at about 10 km from Varanasi, is the place where Buddha chose to deliver his first sermon. Tobgay is on a nine-day official visit to India at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's invitation. He had also participated in 'Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit' in Gandhinagar on Sunday. Japanese Foreign Minister arrives in India for bilateral talks

New Delhi, Jan 16 (ANI): Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida arrived in India on Friday on a two-day visit to strengthen bilateral ties between the two nations. Kishida is in India to co-chair the 8th India-Japan Strategic Dialogue with his counterpart Sushma Swaraj on Saturday. The two foreign ministers will review all aspects of the bilateral relations between the two countries and exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest. Kishida will begin his two-day visit by paying homage to iconic Mahatma Gandhi at his memorial in New Delhi. He is then slated to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
