New Delhi, Dec 02 (ANI): Narendra Modi cabinet's newly inducted minister of state for Food Processing Industries Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti courted controversy by using abusive language while campaigning in Delhi. The union minister on Monday refused to budge from her words and justified the same saying that the statement was meant for the separatist people who disgrace the nation and disrupt the Parliament. Jyoti used an expletive as she questioned a crowd in west Delhi saying, "You have to decide. Do you want a government of Ramzaadon (followers of Ram) or (those who are illegitimate)?" She said that she never took names of any individual or political party or community and that is why people who are offended are the ones who deserve the remark. Dec 2, 2014

Assam and West Bengal urge central govt for scheme on protection of Rhinos

Siliguri, Dec 02 (ANI): India's northeastern and eastern states demanded assistance from central government for protection and conservation of rhinoceros. A programme to create awareness on conservation of rhinoceros was organised in West Bengal which was attended by various conservationists including chairman of International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Doctor Bibhab Kumar Talukdar and Chief Conservator of Forests, Ujjal Bhattacherjee. Urging for a scheme for conservation of dwindling species, IUCN chairman Talukdar said last year 41 rhinoceros were killed in Assam. According to the last Rhino census conducted by the state forest department, there are more than 50 rhinoceros in Garumara National Park and more than 200 in Jaldapara, but the number of this unique species is not increasing. New Delhi, Dec 01 (ANI): Political leaders on Monday reacted over the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government's refusal to make the files on Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose public, saying the revelations would "prejudicially affect" relations with foreign countries. The Prime Minister's Office has shared only a list of 41 such files. In the run-up to the general elections, the then BJP president and present Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in January asked the UPA government to reveal the mystery behind Netaji's death. New Delhi, Dec 01 (ANI): Congress on Monday is all set to release a booklet in the winter session of the Parliament on the U-turns taken by the NDA government since it came to power. The booklet will narrate the promises made by the BJP during the Lok Sabha elections and inaction by the Modi government over the same issues. Party leaders Manish Tewari said that the present government has failed in all perspectives and that needed to be brought up. Meanwhile, Union Ministers Venkaiah Naidu and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that the Congress has no work and this is the result of their idleness. Naidu said that it is their democratic right and there is no harm in releasing any such booklet. The 33-page booklet would highlight over two dozen 'U-turns' by the NDA government and issues like cash subsidy and different bills like FDI in insurance and GST among others, which were UPA proposals, would be included. New Delhi, Nov 30 (ANI): Education Minister Smriti Irani on Sunday sought collaboration with the European Union in terms of massive open on-line courses system where the country's best institutions will provide undergraduate, graduate and post graduate courses free of cost to all citizens. While addressing a gathering after inaugurating the European Higher Education Fair in New Delhi on Sunday, Irani said her ministry launched the 'Study Webs of Active-Learning for Young Aspiring Minds' (SWAYAM), a web portal where Massive Open On-line Courses (MOOCs) will be available on all kinds of subjects. On this platform, all the IITs, IIMs, central universities and selected best colleges and institutions of India will provide undergraduate, graduate and post graduate courses free of cost to all citizens of our country, said Irani. Meanwhile, Irani said education will be made instrumental in India so that it carves out a niche in the world economy.
