Cab drivers protest in capital, seek revoke on cab companies' ban

New Delhi, Dec 12 (ANI): Hundreds of cab drivers on Friday (December 12) held a protest in New Delhi, demanding the Central government to revoke the ban imposed on a few cab companies, which they said was affecting their business. The Central government has requested that all state governments ban Uber and all other unregistered, web-based taxi companies from operating due to passenger safety concerns after one of the Uber Company's drivers was arrested for allegedly raping a young female passenger. Shouting slogans, the protesting cab drivers demanded the government to revoke its earlier order of ban on some cab companies. Dec 12, 2014

New Delhi, Dec 12 (ANI): German Luxury car manufacturer Audi India launched its compact luxury convertible, the A3 Cabriolet in the national capital. Priced at Rs. 44.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), A3 Cabriolet is a 4-seater two door car with a soft top fabric hood which opens and closes in less than 18 seconds, up to a speed of 50km/h. Speaking at the launch Joe King, Head of Audi India said...The new car sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds with a top speed of 242 km/h and is powered with 1.8 TFSI petrol engine with a seven-speed S tronic transmission. Amitabh Bachchan unveils gigantic mural of father of Indian cinema 'Dadasaheb Phalke'

Mumbai, Dec 11 (ANI): Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan on Thursday unveiled a mural of father of the Indian cinema, Dadasaheb Phalke in showbiz capital Mumbai. Phalke made India's first feature film, 'Raja Harishchandra' in the year 1913. The mural of Phalke is painted on the iconic building of state-owned telecommunications service provider in Bandra and measures 120x150 foot. This mural has been painted by artist Ranjit Dahiya, who has also painted murals of Bachchan and Bollywood legend Rajesh Khanna. Addressing the audience, Bachchan said that these artworks are more effective in sending messages in society. Bachchan said that there was no better way of demonstrating the connection with Mumbai other than painting Phalke. Dec 11, 2014

New Delhi, Dec 11 (ANI): Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the two nations signed a total of 16 agreements. The Memorandum of Understanding were signed in varied fields like Petrol and Gas, Military training exchange, Nuclear energy, health research and others. The two leaders signed the pact to further bolster ties between two nations at Hyderabad House in the national capital and they spelt out their vision for cooperation in key areas including defence and nuclear.
