President Mukherjee hosts banquet for Singaporean counterpart in New Delhi

New Delhi, Feb 10 (ANI): President Pranab Mukherjee hosted banquet for Singapore President Tony Tan Keng Yam and his wife Mary Tan at the Presidential Palace in New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and various other dignitaries were present at the occasion. Tony Tan arrived in the national capital on Sunday on a four-day visit to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Earlier in the day, the Singapore President was accorded with a ceremonial reception at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, where he met Mukherjee and Modi. New Delhi, Feb 09 (ANI): Singapore President Tony Tan Keng Yam met Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj in New Delhi on Monday. Yam arrived in national capital on Sunday on a four-day visit to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. President Yam, who is accompanied by his wife Mary Tan, will also inaugurate an exhibition, "The Peranakan World: Cross-Cultural Art from Singapore and the Malacca Straits" at the national museum in New Delhi. As per media reports, Yam will also launch the Singapore-India Commemorative Book published by the Institute of South Asian Studies. Need evidence to take action against black money account holders, centre taking rigorous steps: Jait

New Delhi, Feb 09 (ANI): Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Monday said that there is a need for evidence and that only revelation of names of the black money account holders is not enough to initiate legal action. The Centre has initiated tax-evasion proceedings against 60 Indian accounts that have allegedly parked black money in foreign accounts, Jaitley said. Jaitley further said the Centre has put in rigorous efforts towards digging black money during the last six to seven months. He said that most of the names revealed in the list today are known to the government. He said that the assessments of 350 account holders have been done and the rest will be completed by March 31.
