Militant hideout busted in J&K, cache of arms & ammunitions recovered

Baramulla, March 30 (ANI): Paramilitary forces on Sunday busted a militant’s hideout in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir ahead of upcoming general election. A huge cache of arms and ammunitions were recovered from the hideout during a joint operation by Rashtriya Rifles and Police in Tangmula forest of Baramulla district. Following this the security had been beefed up in the valley. The restive region has witnessed numerous militant attacks, insurgency, and infiltration attempts from across the border in the last two decades. This is the third hideout busted by security forces in the past one week after two militant hideouts were busted in Bandipora district of Kashmir. Mar 30, 2014

Ganderbal, Feb 27 (ANI): An army jawan of 13 Rashtriya Rifles shot dead five of his colleagues at point blank range when they were sleeping and killed himself in Kashmir's Ganderbal district Thursday morning, said army official. The deaths of the jawans took place inside the army camp of 13 Rashtriya Rifles at Safapora. An army court of inquiry will investigate the deaths. Kupwara, Feb 26 (ANI): Indian Army recovered large quantities of arms and ammunition from seven militants who were killed during an encounter between the Indian Army and militants in forest area of Kashmir. Security has been beefed up as more militants are believed to be hiding in the forest area.
