Politicos react as cabinet nods to regularize unauthorized colonies in Delhi

New Delhi, Dec 30 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday expressed its gladness over delivering on its promise of regularizing unauthorized colonies in New Delhi, adding that the decision will provide relief for many residents in the national capital. The Union Cabinet extended the cut-off date for the regularization of unauthorised colonies in New Delhi from March 31, 2002, to June 1, 2014 on Monday. The rival parties, however, said that the BJP is trying to take political mileage by coming up with this proposal for the poll bound Delhi. Dec 30, 2014

New Delhi, Dec 29 (ANI): The Union Cabinet on Monday approved the amendment of the Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act 2013, stating that the owners of land acquired via laws exempted under the act will now be eligible for a similar compensation. New Delhi, Dec 29 (ANI): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh condemned the low intensity blast that took place in Bengaluru last night. Singh asked state authorities to install closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras in the entire city in the wake of the blast. Singh held a high level meeting with top officials of intelligence agencies to review security measures following the low intensity explosion in the high-tech capital. Ranchi, Dec 28 (ANI): BJP leader Raghubar Das was sworn in as the first non-tribal chief minister of Jharkhand on Sunday. He was administered oath of office and secrecy by Jharkhand Governor Syed Ahmed at the Birsa Munda Football Stadium in Ranchi. Four cabinet ministers Nilkanth Singh Munda, Chandreswar Prasad Singh, Chandraprakash Choudhary and Louis Marandi were also sworn in along with Raghubar Das. Elaborate arrangements were made for the function which was attended by a host of leaders although Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah were unable to attend the ceremony due to bad weather conditions. Union Ministers Venkaiah Naidu and Nitin Gadkari were also present at the ceremony. Das, a five-time MLA from Jamshedpur East since 1995, retained the seat this time as well after he defeated Anand Bihari Dubey of the Congress. Dec 28, 2014
