Bengaluru Blast: Rajnath says Centre ready to help state, calls for installation of CCTV cameras

New Delhi, Dec 29 (ANI): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh condemned the low intensity blast that took place in Bengaluru last night. Singh asked state authorities to install closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras in the entire city in the wake of the blast. Singh held a high level meeting with top officials of intelligence agencies to review security measures following the low intensity explosion in the high-tech capital. Finance Minister Jaitley rejects Raghuram Rajan's criticism of 'Make in India'

New Delhi, Dec 29 (ANI): Rejecting Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Raghuram Rajan's criticism on 'Make in India' programme, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Monday said that it is about manufacturing of quality products at low cost, whether they are sold in India or abroad. The minister in his inaugural address of a national workshop on 'Make in India' further said manufacturing remains a challenge for country's economy and cost of capital has been the major factor behind slowed down manufacturing. Emphasizing on manufacturing of quality products at low costs, Jaitley said it was not relevant whether they are sold in India or abroad. Chalking out the ways to open up the roads for manufacturers, Jaitley said the entry point into manufacturing sector needs to be eased and that if we keep doors closed, investments won't come in. There should be an ease of doing business in India. Earlier this month, RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan had criticised 'Make in India' campaign, saying it assumes an export-led growth path of China and it should rather be 'Make for India' with a focus on manufacturing products for the domestic market. Police obtains suspected material from blast site in Bengaluru

Bengaluru/ New Delhi/ Mumbai/ Pune, Dec 29 (ANI): Police on Monday while carrying out a search operation obtained a suspected material from the blast site in Bengaluru. The low intensity IED (Improvised Explosive Device) bomb had exploded on Church Street in Bengaluru killing one and leaving three injured.The blast had occurred around 8:30 pm outside Coconut Grove restaurant on Church Street. Civil Defence Commandant PR Chetan said that Bomb Squad is assisting the city police in every possible way.The victims were walking past the restaurant when the bomb went off.Meanwhile, red alert sounded in Pune, Mumbai and the national capital following the blast in Bengaluru. Health department prepared to handle swine flu cases: JP NAdda

New Delhi, Dec 27 (ANI): Health Minister JP Nadda said on Saturday there was no need to panic after the death of a woman due to swine flu in New Delhi. Nadda said the hospitals were equipped to handle swine flu cases.The 51-year-old woman, who hailed from Ghaziabad city in Uttar Pradesh, was admitted to a local hospital after she complained of fever and cold. She was later tested positive for swine flu. Swine flu is caused by the H1N1 virus. H1N1 symptoms are similar to those produced by other influenza viruses - fever, cough, sore throat, body aches and respiratory problems.According to the Directorate of Health Services, six cases of swine flu have been reported in the national capital and its neighbouring region till now this month. New Delhi records first swine flu death

Ghaziabad /New Delhi, Dec 27 (ANI): Indian capital New Delhi recorded its first swine flu death. The deceased identified as Sheel Goel, resident of East Model Town in Ghaziabad was admitted to the ICU of Ganga Ram Hospital in a serious condition on December 21. She was tested positive for swine flu. She was earlier being treated in a local hospital in Ghaziabad. The authorities claimed that the victim had come from South Africa few days before her death.
