Singapore appoints special envoy to Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad, Feb 26 (ANI): Singapore government appointed senior policy strategist, Gopinath Pillai, as its special envoy to Andhra Pradesh to speed up construction of new capital of the state. Presently, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana share Hyderabad as joint capital. The appointment was announced by Singapore Foreign Minister K Shanmugam and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu during a news conference at the secretariat in capital Hyderabad on Thursday. The Singapore government will be presenting the first-phase of draft master plan of the new capital by June. Naidu said he was happy and content with the working style of Singapore government. Presenting the Railway Budget for fiscal 2015-16 in Parliament, Prabhu stressed on the need to decentralise, deregulate and delegate to make freight business simpler. No new trains were, however, announced this year in the rail budget. There was no increase in railway passenger fares either. The Railways Minister further said that mobile phone charging facilities would be provided in general class coaches and the number of charging facilities would be increased in sleeper class coaches.
