IED blast in Imphal, no casualties reported

Imphal, Jan 21 (ANI): A low intensity Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion occurred in Manipur on Wednesday. No casualties have been reported in the blast that took place inside a crematory complex in capital city, Imphal. An eye witness, Ibechaobi said that she was heading back home when they saw smoke rising. Police reached the spot and began investigation. According to reports, the extremist organizations have further appealed to the people of Manipur to safely remain indoors supporting a total shutdown of activities from 9 PM of January 25 to 6 PM of January 26. Political leaders file nomination papers for Delhi Assembly Polls

New Delhi, Jan 21 (ANI): Political leaders from Congress and BJP on Wednesday filed their nomination papers for Delhi Assembly polls. Today is the last day for filing the nomination papers for the polls and the scrutiny of nominations papers would be done on January 22 while the last date for withdrawal of candidatures is January 24. Congress leader Ajay Maken filed his papers and said that he is ready for a debate with the AAP and BJP Candidates. Party's Kiran Walia also expressed confidence in the performance of Congress. Music launch of 'Shamitabh'

Mumbai, Jan 21 (ANI): Bollywood legends attended music launch of Amitabh Bachchan starrer film, 'Shamitabh', in a glittering event in India's entertainment capital, Mumbai on Tuesday. India's famous lyricist, Gulzar, launched the music album during the event, which was attended by Tamil superstar Rajnikanth, actor Kamal Haasan and actresses Jaya Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Bollywood stars also paid tribute to music composer of the film Ilaiyaraaja as this was the 1000th movie for which he had given music. 'Shamitabh' will also see Indian actor Dhanush in the lead role. This is his second Bollywood film, who won appreciation for his Bollywood debut Raanjhana. Kamal Haasan's daughter Akshara Haasan will make her debut with Shamitabh. In the movie, Dhanush plays role of a deaf and mute man to whom Amitabh Bachchan has lent his voice. During the music launch, second trailer of the movie was also unveiled. Directed by R. Lack of confidence in euro zone has been overcome, says German finance Minister in New Delhi

New Delhi, Jan 21 (ANI): German Finance Minister, Wolfgang Schauble, said the euro zone has overcome a lack of confidence and is working to boost growth, but emerging nations should take the lead in reviving the global economy, in a seminar at New Delhi. Schauble, who is on a two-day India visit, to enhance bilateral economic relations, addressed a seminar entitled "Europe and India in the face of Globalisation" hosted by the Indian business group Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) where he reassured India that the euro zone is not about to lurch into a fresh crisis. Asked about the impact of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Schaeuble said whole of Europe has faced a lot of problems with Russia, but the most problems are faced by Russia itself. Europe would "deliver its fair contribution" to global growth, Schauble also said, while calling on emerging economies like India to make a bigger contribution.
