Labour MP Andy Burnham warns of old style establishment stitch-up over Orgreave

The MP for Leigh, and former Shadow Home Secretary, has called on the government to investigate the so-called Battle of Orgreave. More than 70 officers and 50 strikers were injured after clashes in July 1984, during the height of the UK miners strikes. Home Secretary Amber Rudd has rejected calls for an inquiry into the actions of South Yorkshire police, who have been accused of numerous misconduct allegations. Nov 1, 2016
