Mumbai, Oct 02 (ANI): Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) released its manifesto for the state assembly elections on Thursday. Present during the event was also Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan among other party leaders. Same day also witnessed manifesto release by their ex-ally Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). The party attempted to woo farmers, youths and other sections of the society in their election manifesto for the upcoming October 15 Maharashtra assembly polls. Reactions pour in after Maharashtra goes under President's rule

Mumbai/ New Delhi, Sep 28 (ANI): The BJP on Sunday hailed imposition of president's rule in poll-bound Maharashtra after former Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan resigned. Chavan quit after the regional Nationalist Congress Party pulled out of the government over failure of seat-sharing talks with the Congress party. President Pranab Mukherjee signed the proclamation a day after the union cabinet recommended it. Congress said that the decision was arbitrary. The NCP said it was the President's prerogative. New Delhi, Sep 28 (ANI): President's rule has been imposed in Maharashtra on Sunday; three days after former Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan submitted his resignation as his government lost the majority following NCP's official withdrawal from the alliance. Maharashtra has gone under President's Rule fifteen days before the state will go for its next assembly election scheduled to be held in the state on October 15. Nagpur/ Mumbai, Sept 26 (ANI): A day after Nationalist Congress Party ended its alliance with Congress reducing the party into minority in Maharashtra, Prithviraj Chavan resigned as Maharashtra chief minister. Chavan submitted his resignation to Maharashtra governor on Friday. President's Rule is expected to be imposed in the state, where election is scheduled to be held on October 15.
