Venezuela: Protest violinist injured as youths clash with security forces

Violent clashes between masked youths and National Guard troops erupted in Caracas after a Democratic Unity coalition march on the Supreme Court was blocked by security forces. A 23-year-old musician famous for playing his violin in the midst of clashes was injured. Wuilly Arteaga tweeted a video from his hospital bed still clutching his violin. The opposition is accusing President Nicolás Maduro of attempting to turn the country into a dictatorship. More than 100 people have died in violent protests against Maduro since April. Jul 23, 2017
