Govt distances itself from Mufti's remark, Opposition demands PM's statement

New Delhi, March 02 (ANI): The BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre on Monday dissociated itself from Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed's remark crediting Pakistan for peaceful polls in the state. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday told the Parliament that armed forces, paramilitary forces and the people of Jammu and Kashmir have made peaceful polls possible. Meanwhile, the opposition demanded a statement from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issue. Sayeed, who took oath as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister yesterday, stoked a controversy by stating that the Hurriyat, Pakistan and militants had allowed a conducive atmosphere for the assembly polls in the state. International agriculture fair held to promote organic farming in the Northeast

Guwahati, March 02 (ANI): The second edition of 'Assam-International Agri-Horticultural' show in Guwahati was an indication of continuous effort to promote modern farming techniques and organic farming in the state. With a participation of 425 stalls from 12 countries and 25 multinational companies, the fair provided an opportunity to state farmers to gain knowledge of global farm technology. The event, organised by the state agriculture department, was inaugurated by Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh. The foreign participants displayed their farm technology; organic produce, genetically developed vegetables and medicinal products. Assam's Department of Agriculture also displayed organic products including vegetables, flowers and food grains.
