Pakistani Shi'ites protest against Shikarpur mosque blast that killed at least 49 people

Islamabad, Feb 02 (ANI): Dozens of Shi'ite held rallies in Pakistani capital Islamabad to condemn mosque bombing in Shikarpur that killed at least 49 worshippers and injured dozens of others on Friday. Thousands of mourners in Shikarpur city on Saturday held a mass funeral for victims of the bomb blast in a Shi'ite mosque. The blast occurred during Friday prayers. The Islamabad protesters held banners and placards denouncing the bombing and demanding the perpetrators to be hanged publicly. At another protest in Islamabad by ex-graduates of Quaid-e-Azam University, the protesters demanded the government provide quick justice to the families of the victims. Meanwhile, Pakistan's information minister offered condolences with the bereave families and reiterated government's vow to root out terrorism from the country. Feb 2, 2015
