Women's wing of AAP organises bike rally as a show of strength in Krishna Nagar

New Delhi, Feb 04 (ANI): In a show of strength, the women's wing of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) organised a bike rally in New Delhi on Wednesday, ahead of assembly elections in the city. This bike rally was organised in Krishna Nagar, the constituency from where the chief ministerial candidate of ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Kiran Bedi, is contesting elections. Delhi goes to polls on February 7 for the second time in 14 months after AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal pulled plugs on his government supported by Congress party barely 49 days into office last February. AAP supporters from across the country converged in the capital to take part in the rally. Bollywood actress and member of AAP from Chandigarh city, Gul Panag, led the rally riding her trademark Bullet bike, wearing a red jacket. 'Badlapur' is a dark, multi-starrer film featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Radhika Apte, Vinay Pathak, Divya Dutta and Huma Qureshi apart from the lead actors. In the film, Raghu, played by Dhawan, is a man on a mission of revenge or 'badla' which he has been nursing for 15 years. At least nine dead after TransAsia airplane crashes into Taipei River

London, Feb 04 (ANI): A Taiwanese TransAsia Airways flight with more than 50 people aboard hit a bridge and crashed into a river near the capital Taipei on Wednesday morning, leaving at least nine people dead. According to media reports, the domestic flight ATR-72, carrying 53 passengers and five crew members, had just taken off from Taipei Songshan Airport and was headed to the outlying Kinmen islands, just off the coast of south-east China. Reportedly, the plane lost contact with flight controllers before it crashed into Keelung River near the city's downtown Sungshan airport. Rescue teams rushed to help survivors of the plane crash. Many passengers were wounded in the mishap. Reports suggest that there are still people trapped inside the plane. Feb 4, 2015

India-Bhutan friendship car rally kicks off in Siliguri

Siliguri, Feb 04 (ANI): The three-day long Indo-Bhutan car rally covering Himalayan ranges kicked off on Wednesday (February 04) from Siliguri town in West Bengal. The rally has been organized by Friendship Car Rally Association of India and Bhutan Friendship Association to strengthen relations between the two neighbours. The car rally, which is being held after two years gap, would cover a distance of 850 kilometers and would culminate in Bhutan's capital, Thimphu. Twenty participants from India and ten from Bhutan are taking part in this mega event. The extremely challenging route of pristine foothills and forests crisscrossed by rivers and mountain streams and high Himalayan passes of altitude of up to 13000 feet make the drive thoroughly adventurous. Heavy snowfall disrupts normal life in Kashmir

Ramban/ Shimla, Feb 04 (ANI): Heavy snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir hit electricity, water and blocked national highway, disrupting normal life. Roads in Ramban area were filled with snow making it difficult for vehicles to ply due to which people had to walk long distances carrying their luggage. National Highway-44 was completely blocked, restricting transportation. State's capital city, Srinagar, on Sunday (February 01) had received season's first snowfall bringing cheers to residents. However, snowfall did not bring much delight to residents of Ramban district. As per local media reports, the weather department has predicted snowfall for next three days. The minimum temperature recorded was minus 0.2 degree Celsius. Reportedly, an avalanche warning has also been issued in higher reaches of the valley. Meanwhile, hill town of Shimla also received three to 90 centimeters of fresh snowfall. Minimum temperature recorded was two degree Celsius.
