Puri, Sep 12 (ANI): Sand artist Sudarshan Pattnaik salutes the Army, who are engaged in mammoth rescue and relief operations in flood ravaged Kashmir, through sand. Pattnaik has created a 6 feet high sand sculpture where he shows how the army is rescuing the people in Jammu and Kashmir. He has used about 5 tonne of sand and it took him nearly 4 hours to complete. Both the Indian and Pakistan sides of the disputed Himalayan region have been hit by extensive flooding in recent days, and about 450 people have been killed, with Indian Kashmir's main city of Srinagar particularly hard hit. Puri, Sep 11 (ANI): To commemorate the 13th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, renowned sand artist, Sudarshan Pattnaik, sculpted the twin towers of World Trade Centre on the beaches of Puri, with the message 'No Terror, but Peace.' Pattnaik created a five feet high sand replica of the twin towers representing the number eleven, in the middle of the number nine. The sculpture was made using five tonnes of sand and took about seven hours to complete. Sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik condemns murder of US journalist in Iraq

Bhubaneswar, Aug 22 (ANI): Condemning the killing of American journalist James Foley by ISIS militants in Iraq, noted Indian sand artist, Sudarsan Pattnaik, created a sculpture on the beach of Puri city in Odisha. The sculpture depicting face of the journalist with a message “Don’t kill innocents” drew sizeable crowd on the beach. Four tonnes of sand was used in making the sculpture. Pattnaik said the assassination in Iraq was one of the most heinous crimes in the world. Foley was beheaded by the Islamist militant group Islamic State, an act shown in a video released on August 22 in which the group called for the United States to end its air strikes in Iraq.
