New Delhi, Feb 12 (ANI): Finance Minister Arun Jaitley met US treasury secretary Jacob J Lew on Thursday. RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan was also present at the meeting. Lew is in India to attend the fifth U.S.-India Economic and Financial Partnership Dialogue in New Delhi. He recently met Indian business leaders in financial hub Mumbai at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and US-India Business Council Roundtable ahead of the dialogue in Delhi that will focus on capital market reforms and economic policies between the two countries. New Delhi, Feb 12 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who met Delhi Chief Minister-designate Arvind Kejriwal Thursday, will not be attending the latter's oath taking ceremony on February 14. Kejriwal, who met Prime Minister Modi for about 15 minutes this morning and invited him to his swearing-in ceremony at the Ramlila Maidan, had met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu and President Pranab Mukherjee on Wednesday. Kejriwal's party, AAP, made a clean sweep of the Delhi assembly polls yesterday, winning 67 of the 70 seats on offer and decimated rivals BJP and Congress. U.S, India can work to deepen capital markets, says U.S. Treasury Secretary

Mumbai, Feb 12 (ANI): U.S. Treasury Secretary Jacob J. Lew has said both India and U.S. could work together to deepen capital markets, combat money laundering and terrorist financing. Lew is in India to attend the fifth U.S.-India Economic and Financial Partnership Dialogue in New Delhi. He recently met Indian business leaders in financial hub Mumbai at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and US-India Business Council Roundtable ahead of the dialogue in Delhi that will focus on capital market reforms and economic policies between the two countries. He added that the entrepreneurial spirit, vibrant private sectors, and commitment to economic growth and job creation are the cornerstones of the U.S.-India economic relationship. Politicos react after Patna HC stays election of Nitish Kumar as JD (U)'s party leader

New Delhi/Patna, Feb 11 (ANI): Politicos reacted on Wednesday after the Patna High Court stayed the Janata Dal United's move to elect Nitish Kumar as their leader. Bihar's former Forest Minister and Nitish Kumar's supporter PK Shahi and JD (U) leader Pradeep Kumar said that no stay has been put up by the Patna High Court over Nitish Kumar's elections. Meanwhile, Kumar had earlier in the day reached the national capital to meet President Pranab Mukherjee, and parade 130 supporting MLAs to show that he enjoys a majority in the Bihar Assembly. The MLAs belong to the ruling JD (U), besides some from the RJD, Congress, CPI and Independents. Nitish, who wanted an invitation from Bihar Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi to form a new government in the state after he was elected the leader of JD (U), had said that a democratic process should be followed in Bihar.
