Madhavan is busy acting in three projects, of which one is a Hollywood production. Maddy is playing a part in the next sequel to ‘The night of the living dead – origins’, for which he is spending a lot of time and effort in gym and toning up his body. In Tamil he is doing ‘Iruthi Sutru’ where he plays a boxing trainer. His third project is ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ part 2 in Hindi. Oct 15, 2014

Indian pugilists train in Shimla's high altitude to adapt to rough climatic conditions

Shimla, Oct 08 (ANI): Forty eight Indian pugilists from Madhya Pradesh undertook training in an 18-day high altitude boxing camp in Shimla city to get acclimatized to low weather conditions and increase their stamina. The camp started on September 22 and will conclude on October 9.He also said that the camp will make them stronger and increase their level of play. Out of the total of 48 boxers, eight are international level players and 15 are national champions. The coach added that such high altitude camps help players in improving their game and should be made mandatory for everyone. Oct 8, 2014

Mary Kom once again makes India proud as she bags gold in 2014 Asian Games

Imphal/ Hyderabad/ New Delhi, Oct 01 (ANI): India cheers MC Mary Kom as she gave the country's battered boxing team something to celebrate when she won the women's flyweight gold medal at the Asian Games on Wednesday. Kom's mother, Akham Kom cheered for her daughter while enjoying the match on TV back home. Kom, a five-time world champion and Olympic bronze medallist, had to dig deep to beat Shekerbekova, who held her own in the opening round but was unable to hold off the Indian after that. Vice President, Indian Olympic Association, Tarlochan Singh said the medal is a big boost for the Indian contingent in general but boxing in particular. Meanwhile, Sports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal also congratulated Kom and said that she is an inspiration for all women. Oct 1, 2014
