Marina Litvinenko calls for ban and imposition of Vladimir Putin

President Vladimir Putin probably approved a Russian intelligence operation to murder ex-KBG agent Alexander Litvinenko, a judge led-British inquiry into the 2006 killing in London concluded on 21 January. Mark Carney: Now is not yet the time to raise interest rates

Bank of England Governor Mark Carney said on 19 January that he did not have a set timetable for raising British interest rates and wanted to see faster growth and stronger underlying inflation first. Carney said global and domestic growth had proved weaker than he had expected in the middle of the year, when he predicted that a decision on when to raise interest rates would have come into sharper relief by early 2016. Iran nuclear deal: Javad Zarif says sanctions on will be lifted on 16 January

International sanctions on Iran will be lifted on 16 January, when the United Nations nuclear agency declares Tehran has complied with an agreement to scale back its nuclear programme, Irans foreign minister said. Foreign Minister Javad Zarif arrived in Vienna, headquarters of the International Atomic Energy Agency, the UN body expected to issue a report triggering the lifting of sanctions imposed by the United Nations, United States and European Union.
