Haryana CM ML Khattar's convoy runs over pedestrian

Karnal, March 03 (ANI): A police vehicle belonging to Haryana Chief Minister ML Khattar's convoy ran over a pedestrian on the national highway near Karnal. The incident took place last night when the Chief Minister's convoy was going to the national capital from Chandigarh. Two policemen including the driver of the vehicle have also been injured in the incident. After the incident, all the three injured were taken to a trauma centre in Karnal where the pedestrian succumbed to the injuries. The incident raises question as to why the administration is trying to keep the whole episode into closed envelope. Mar 3, 2015

Fresh snowfall in Kashmir delights residents

New Delhi/ Udhampur, Mar 02 (ANI): Residents in Kashmir are overjoyed as sudden change in weather pattern brings snowfall to the capital Srinagar city. A blanket of white covered the entire city as temperatures dipped below zero. While many were forced to retreat indoors, others found joy in the snowfall. The sudden change in weather has also resulted in landslides and blockades in some parts of the city. Traders were the most affected as they were stranded on roads due to land slip. With snowfall in Kashmir, many parts of northern India witnessed heavy rainfall. Meteorological department has predicted similar weather conditions for the week ahead. Coupled with high wind, the heavy rainfall has disrupted normal life in states such as Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh. Mar 2, 2015

Foreign Secretary arrives in Bangladesh as part of SAARC visit

Dhaka, Mar 02 (ANI): India's Foreign Secretary, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, arrived in Bangladesh's capital Dhaka on Monday (March 02) for a day-long visit as part of his 'SAARC Yatra' (visit). Jaishankar landed in Dhaka on a special flight from Bhutan and was received by his counterpart Md Shahidul Haque at the airport. After Bangladesh, Jaishankar is scheduled to visit Pakistan on March 03 and Afghanistan on March 04. Dhaka and New Delhi are working out a resolution on two long-pending issues with India - the Land Boundary Agreement (LBA), for swapping enclaves into each other's territory, and sharing of Teesta water.
