Simbu receives best singer award in SIIMA 2014

The two-day South Indian International Movie Awards event kicked off on a grand note on Friday at Kuala Lampur, Malaysia. A long list of celebrities attended day 1 of the awards ceremony. The event something really different whenTamil actor Simbhu bagged the award for the Best Male Singer. The award was for his song Diamond Girl from the NTR Jr starrer film Baadshah. The actor singer won the maximum votes against Shankar Mahadevan who was nominated for his song from Attarintiki Daredi. Simbu thanked Juniour NTR and Thaman for making it happen. He added that that he would like to sing for Pawan kalyan in future. He also went on to entertain the crowd by singing the song on stage.

New Delhi, Sep 10 (ANI): Since the absence of Leader of Opposition is becoming a hurdle in the appointment of the CVC and CIC, the Government will be very soon taking a conclusive decision on the removal of LoP from the Lok Sabha. Reacting on the Government's proposal, Congress leader Manish Tewari said that instead of removing the post of LoP why doesn't the government tell the speaker that Congress is the biggest opposition party and that it should get the post. NCP leader Majid Memon and SP leader Naresh Aggarwal said that if the post of LoP is removed, it is clear that the Government wants to act in an authoritative way.

Saradha Scam: Court extends CBI custody of Sandhir Agarwal

Kolkata, Aug 27 (ANI): The High Court in Kolkata has extended the CBI custody of city-based businessman Sandhir Aggarwal who was arrested for his alleged role in the Saradha chit fund scam. His lawyer said that they tried to get him out on bail but the Court extended his CBI custody till September 1. Agarwal is suspected to have acted as a middleman with SEBI and other regulatory bodies for Saradha Group Chief Sudipto Sen and shielded him from action, according to CBI sources.
