New Delhi, Sep 15 (ANI): As UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav visits riot-hit Muzaffarnagar, a week after the communal clashes started there, BJP Vice President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi taunted Yadav saying that this is a secular tourism on communal riots that happened in the town. Naqvi further said that there won't be any benefit of this 'secular tourism' and it would further intensify the pain people are going through. The annual festival was held at Ganesh Kala Krida Manch with who___s who of the film industry performing on the occasion. Veteran Actress, Hema Malini, enthralled the audience by performing a special dance, called the 'Ganesh-Vandana, dedicated to Lord Ganesha. Malini said that the annual event had helped in bringing together large number of people. The event also featured a young group of students from the conflicted areas of Jammu and Kashmir and the northeastern states, who staged a cultural performance. Kashmir observes shutdown in protest against human rights violation

Srinagar, Sep 14 (ANI): Residents of Kashmir observed shutdown on Saturday in protest against the recent incidents of violence in the state's Shopian district and repeated human rights violations, which was taking place in the province. All shops, business establishments, educational institutions in the state were shut as public transport also ceased services in the state. The shutdown call was given by Hardliner Kashmiri separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani to protest against human rights violations in the state. A resident, Irfan said that there was need to stop the atrocities that were being committed against the residents in the valley. Leader of Peoples Democratic Party, the main opposition in the state, Mehbooba Mufti attempted to visit Shopian on Wednesday (September 11) but was stopped from entering the district due to it being under curfew for the last few days.
