PM Modi congratulates Sania Mirza for winning US Open Mixed Doubles title

New Delhi, Sep 07 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated tennis ace Sania Mirza for winning the US Open Mixed Doubles title. "Congratulations to Sania Mirza for the victory in the US Open Mixed Doubles Finals. We are very proud of the achievement," said PM Modi. He also congratulated Japanese tennis player Kei Nishikori for making it to the US Open Finals. "Good news from US Open continued with Kei Nishikori's exemplary win! My best wishes to this young sportsman for the final," PM Modi added. Yesterday, President Pranab Mukherjee had also congratulated Sania Mirza for her win. Sania and her Brazilian teammate Bruno Soares lifted the Mixed Doubles trophy of the US Open on Friday night. Film show on Mirza Ghalib enthralls audience in Srinagar

Srinagar, Aug 03 (ANI): People attended a special film show on renowned Sufi poet, Mirza Ghalib, in Srinagar city of Jammu and Kashmir in large numbers. The film was screened in the auditorium of Radio Kashmir, which is controlled by the Indian government and a non-commercial radio station operating from Kashmir. Ghalib, the most prominent Urdu and Persian poet of India during the Mughal period, took to poetry recital to boost languages. His poetry comprised mostly of romance, love and sadness. In order to honour the poet and highlight his contribution to Urdu poetry, the radio station screened a film on him in collaboration with Actors Creative Theater (ACT) group.
