At least 48 children rescued from bangle factories in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Jan 30 (ANI): Police rescued at least 48 child labourers from bangle factories in Hyderabad. The children were rescued after police carried out multiple raids across the city. Most of them belonged to Bihar state. The police have been carrying out raids as part of their 'Smile' programme to rescue minor children working in hazardous conditions. Hyderabad Police circle officer, N Rama Rao said they have booked a case against the owners and efforts are on to nab the culprits. Some children said they were forced to abandon their studies and work in factories with either no pay or little pay. A 13-year-old Mohammad Ruhail, who came from Bihar, said he was forced to work because of poverty. Jan 30, 2015

Police arrest two men, recover large amount of explosives in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Jan 22(ANI): Police on Wednesday recovered detonators, gelatin bars and explosives in Hyderabad after they arrested two individuals who were supplying the explosives illegally. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police of Hyderabad, N. Koti Reddy, said the suspects had been arrested and further investigation is on. He added that another suspect, Rama Krishna, 50, was absconding. The arrest of the two men and subsequent recovery of explosives comes days before U.S. President Barack Obama's visit to India as it celebrates its Republic Day on January 26. Ayodhya, Dec 06 (ANI): Security has been beefed up in Ayodhya on the 22nd anniversary of demolition of Babri mosque by Hindu volunteers. About 10,000 security personnel have been deployed in the city along with imposition of prohibitory orders. Anti-riot personnel are maintaining strict vigil in Ayodhya and Faizabad. Moreover, two dozen CCTV cameras have also been installed across city. Hindus regard Ayodhya as the birth place of Lord Rama. On December 6, 1992, a mob of Hindu religious volunteers demolished the Babri mosque allegedly been built by the Mughal ruler Babar in the sixteenth century at a place where Lord Ram temple existed. Residents await justice ahead of 22nd anniversary of Babri mosque demolition in Ayodhya

Ayodhya, Dec 05 (ANI): Residents of the Ayodhya city of Uttar Pradesh await justice ahead of the 22nd anniversary of the demolition of the Babri mosque which triggered massive communal riots causing immense loss of life and property in the ensuing violence. On Wednesday (December 03), a litigator, Mohammad Hashim Ansari, who had filed a petition in the case more than 60 years ago, withdrew it. As per media sources, Ansari said the deity concerned (Lord Rama) is placed in makeshift camps, whereas those playing politics are living in bungalows. Ansari on Thursday said that he did not expect the government to take any decision in favour of his community. Meanwhile, a Hindu priest, Nirmohiya said that temples in Lord Ram's reported birthplace were left derelict, without holy offerings and devotional prayers.
