Space X aiming for man on Mars in 2024

Elon Musks Space X is developing a interplanetary rocket and capsule with the ultimate goal of colonising Mars. The project has estimated development costs of $10bn (£7.7bn), but is aiming to be able to carry 100 passengers with cargo and fly every 26 months to Mars. Another of Musks aims is to bring costs down to an affordable level to attract volunteers, as he is hoping Space X tickets to Mars will eventually cost $100,000 (£77,000). Sep 28, 2016

SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket explodes at Cape Canaveral launch site

A large plume of smoke can be seen coming from the launch site for Elon Musks SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket at Cape Canaveral in Florida on 1 September. Multiple U.S. media sites are reporting that explosions rocked the site and that it occurred during a test firing of the Falcon 9 rocket ahead of its scheduled launch of an Israeli communications satellite.
