Manipur hosts large delegation from Myanmar to strengthen cultural ties

Imphal, Dec 06 (ANI): On Nov. 21, the first international flight from Myanmar landed at Tulihal International Airport in Imphal. The Golden Myanmar Airlines aircraft arrived with over 100 passengers to take part in the annual Sangai Festival. The delegation, including the Chief Minister of Mandalay region, U Ye Mint, the Chief Minister of Sagaing Region, U Thar Aye, several Meitei Diaspora and media persons were warmly received by Manipur Chief Minister O.Ibobi Singh. Manipur is hopeful of turning a significant regional hub for international flights to Southeast Asian countries, thereby promoting trade, tourism, business and investment. A business conclave was also organised to explore trade and investment opportunities between Manipur and Myanmar. The Myanmar delegation interacted with Manipuri traders and discussed the issues concerning border trade. Nagpur, Dec 6 (ANI): Organizers held the first Wine Festival in India's orange city of Nagpur on Saturday, highlighting health benefits of the low alcoholic beverage. The two-day-long festival was organized by the 'Wine Lovers Club' and eight Indian brands promoted their drinks during the event. Wine festival was enjoyed by a large number of people smelling, shaking and tasting wine and watching bartenders juggling wine bottles. Women said that they chose wine over any other alcoholic drink because of its health benefit and also due to social bindings in Indian culture.
