Uttar Pradesh/ Rajasthan, Dec 31 (ANI): North India continued to reel under severe cold wave and foggy conditions on Tuesday with no sign of abating as a fresh spell of mild snowfall lashed hills of Himachal Pradesh while mercury in several parts of the state and Kashmir dipped as low as minus 15 degree Celsius. Jammu and Kashmir/ Himachal Pradesh/New Delhi, Dec 27 (ANI): New Delhi and other parts of north India continued to reel under severe cold with icy winds plummeting the temperature further on Friday. The landscape remained snowy in northern states of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, with most parts freezing at sub-zero temperature. The cold tightened its grip with residents in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir complaining of the freezing conditions. According to media reports, some people have also died due to the prevailing chill in the northern provinces. In Himachal Pardesh, the temperature remained two degrees below normal. Dec 27, 2013

Organizer of the competition Kishore Prasad said that the genre of rock is very popular in Kashmir and therefore, a platform is needed to showcase it. Srinagar city, Dec 20 (ANI): Kashmir came alive with a big cinematic extravaganza, as it hosts the first-ever Kashmir International Film Festival (KIFF) post insurgency. Documentaries from across the globe hit the big screen of Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Center located on the banks of the famed Dal Lake in Srinagar city, which is hosting its first-ever international film festival in more than 23 years. The fest was being held after a lull of more than two decades in the valley since the eruption of militancy in 1990. The theatres remained shut following a diktat by of separatist's outfits in the region. The screening of movies was once again halted in early 2000 after grenade attacks inside the hall premises.Twenty-three films, including some based on the history and culture of Kashmir, were enthralling the audiences in the region.
