Luxury MV Rajmahal cruise in River Ganges enchants tourists

Patna, Sep 07 (ANI): In first-of-its kind initiative, a luxury cruise carrying Japanese tourists was flagged off in sacred River Ganges from Bihar to holy town of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. The cruise-MV Rajmahal-sailed in waters of River Ganges, with 24 Japanese tourists on board, who will get a glimpse of India's holy Varanasi town. The cruise will travel a distance of over 420 kilometres in seven nights. During the seven-day trip, tourists will see Mughal era Chunar Fort, including British cemetery, Maharaja Palace, Buddhist site Sarnath, Sasaram Fort, Buxar, Nalanda and Bodh Gaya. Cruise manager, Kunal Singh said this was the first cruise that they had started, which will stop at Chunar fort. The cruise has 22 air-conditioned cabins with large windows which give a view of the Ganges and its banks. Sep 7, 2014

Worsening Flood situation in J&K halt Shri Shakti Express, block national highway

Udhampur, Sep 07 (ANI): Floods, triggered by heavy downpour, in Jammu and Kashmir continued to wreak havoc on Sunday and lead to suspension of trains and blocking national highway due to mudslide. Pilgrims to sacred holy cave of Vaishno Devi were stranded as Katra region-bound Shri Shakti Express train was stuck for hours at Ramnagar railway station in Udhampur district. A passenger, Vinod Bansal said authorities were not providing any information on the movement of the train. Another passenger, Bagish Goyal said the authorities suddenly announced termination of the train without providing any alternative. Nearly 100 people have been killed due to floods in Kashmir as rivers in the region flowed above the danger mark due to incessant rains.
