Jammu, Feb 01 (ANI) Refuting the speculations on the split of Congress and National Conference (NC) alliance, Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that the party has no intention of leaving the Congress. He said that both the parties agree on the point that they will stay in alliance till the very end. Commenting on Farooq Abdullah’s meeting with DMK President M Karunanidhi, he said that the two dignitaries are friends and their meeting should not be seen as a political meeting. Security forces encircled a residential house in Pulwama district of Kashmir where the militants were hiding, the militants opened fire, which was retaliated by the Indian security forces. Srinagar, Jan 31 (ANI): The moderate faction of Hurriyat Conference, under the chairmanship of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq called for a shutdown in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday as they protested against Indian Army’s decision of closing the Pathribal fake encounter case. In 2006, CBI had indicted five Army personnel for staging fake encounter while giving a clean chit to provincial police. During the encounter, five people were killed on March 26, 2000, at Pathribal in south Kashmir. Pak seeks early solution to intra-Kashmir trade issue

Islamabad, Jan 31 (ANI): Pakistan said it wants early solution to the issue relating to suspension of intra-Kashmir trade, so that the trade on this sector could continue. Efforts by India and Pakistan to increase trade and ease tension in disputed Kashmir have suffered a blow with Indian police saying they had seized more than 100 kilograms (220 lb) of heroin concealed in a truck full of nuts coming from the Pakistan side. Pakistan halted cross-border trade and bus travel across the Himalayan region after the seizure, and after New Delhi summoned Pakistan's acting envoy in protest. Pakistan's Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Tasnim Aslam said the issue was under discussion between the two countries and it would be resolved soon. Jan 31, 2014
