Restoration work on in flood-hit Kedarnath

Kedarnath, Dec 30 (ANI): Work is in full swing in temple town of Kedarnath, the epicentre of the worst flooding across Uttarakhand last year, which killed at least 6,000 people. The state authorities have approved a reconstruction and rehabilitation plan for Kedarnath, one of the holiest shrines of the Hindus. It is banking on the recommendations of the Geological Survey of India for planning reconstruction and rehabilitation work at Kedarnath. The institute is also building a helipad of 150 metres by 50 metres, the biggest in the town, to enable Indian Air Force's Mi-26 choppers to carry construction materials and equipments at the sites. But the weather plays truant with construction work gets hampered by the dipping temperatures. It has been decided not to allow any construction activity around the temple, which bore the brunt of the floods. Dec 30, 2014

New Delhi, Dec 30 (ANI): Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday applauded Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi for facilitating induction of more northeast officers in Delhi police force. Rijiju along with Home Ministry officials visited the Delhi Police headquarters and discussed problems of the northeast people with senior police officers. Rijiju has decided to enhance the number of officers from the northeast in Delhi Police. He is also likely to write a letter to all northeastern states to encourage their youth to join Delhi Police. Reactions flow after TTP accuses Pak army of using youth for 'blood game', calls soldiers to join th

New Delhi, Dec 29 (ANI): Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan has released a video accusing Pakistan army of using youth for 'blood game' during war of Liberation in 1971 and also various proxy wars against Kashmir. TTP has also asked the Pak army officials to join them in a war against the Pak army which has always attacked Mujahideens. The video purportedly of its senior Commander Adnan Rashid, a former Pakistan Air Force official who was involved in an attack on ex-dictator Gen Pervez Musharraf, calls upon the soldiers of Pakistani Army to join the TTP listing the atrocities committed by the force including "killing of millions" and "raping of own sisters" during the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971. Defence Expert Commodore (Retd) Ranjit B Rai said that Pakistan is not in a condition to bear another attack by TTP. BJP leader GVL Narasimha Rao said that TTP's statement only proves the view of India as far as cross border trade is concerned. Dec 29, 2014
