Jammu, July 20 (ANI): Congress and the National Conference split up before Jammu and Kashmir Assembly polls and are confident to contest independently. Congress leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad, Ambika Soni and Saifuddin Soz, while talking to mediapersons confirmed the same and said that when there is no benefit coming out of an alliance it better be scrapped. New Delhi, July 20 (ANI): Pakistani troops again resorted to violating ceasefire by firing on an outpost along the international border in RS Pura sector of Jammu district of Jammu and Kashmir. The firing started at around 1:00 am in the night and lasted till morning 5:30 am. Reportedly, heavy firing took place at border villages including Gharna, Sai, Kaku De Kothey and Pindi villages. Due to landing of some mortar shells in the residential areas some animals died and some were left injured as well. Himachal Pradesh steps up security in border areas with J&K after reports of militants___ movement

Shimla, July 19 (ANI): Himachal Pradesh has stepped up security in border areas with Jammu and Kashmir after reports of militants___ movement, said police chief, Sanjay Kumar. Director General of Police (DGP), Kumar, said that the intelligence input was passed on by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) authorities in Jammu and Kashmir. Kumar added that patrolling was intensified on the roads connecting Chamba district with Jammu and Kashmir to prevent any attempt by extremists to infiltrate. Chamba district shares nearly 200 kilometers border with Jammu and Kashmir and it is easy for the militants to infiltrate due to mountainous terrain. Jammu, July 18 (ANI): India___s paramilitary Border Security Force (BSF) said that it would retaliate to the latest ceasefire violation along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir if Pakistan Rangers violated the ceasefire again. On Wednesday, one Border Security Force (BSF) personnel was killed and three BSF personnel were injured in cross-border firing in Jammu and Kashmir. Following the incident, the Director General of BSF, DK Pathak, went to inspect the area along with his convoy and said the situation is presently under control.The BSF personnel reportedly died of a bullet injury to his shoulder.
