New Delhi, July 27 (ANI): Talking about the Chinese graziers who reportedly pitched tents in the Demchok area of Ladakh in Jammu and Kashmir this week but withdrew after talks between troops on either side of the border, Wing Commander (Retd), Indian Air Force, Praful Bakshi said that this is nothing to be concerned about. The incident comes on the back of two reported incursion attempts by Chinese troops earlier this month in Demchok and Chumar areas of Ladakh. Bakshi said that the new government in India would not leave any stones unturned in this regard. He said that China will make a serious attempt in some time from now to see if the Indian army is ready. He also said that the Indian army should be ready at all times in such incidents. Jul 27, 2014

One policeman killed, four injured in grenade attack in Sopore

Sopore, July 26 (ANI): One policeman was killed and four others were injured in a grenade attack by militants in the wee hours on Saturday in Sopore town of Baramulla district in Jammu and Kashmir. Deputy Inspector General (DIG), North Kashmir Ghulam Hassan said that few militants who were among the stone pelters launched a grenade attack followed by a gun battle in which one of our security personnel Mohammed Sayeed died and four other policemen got injured. The explosives were old and recovered after villagers in the area found them and informed the bomb squad. Srinagar, July 26 (ANI): The Hindu cave shrine of Amarnath, located in a Himalayan glacial valley, spurred tourism in Kashmir as pilgrims throng the mountainous terrain during the ongoing pilgrimage. The holy Amarnath cave is situated at a height of approximately 4,000 meters, which has four ice formations considered figurines of different Hindu gods. Pilgrims are not only going to the shrine, but are also coming in large numbers to take a trip of the valley and enjoy the picturesque views, grasp the freshness of the meadows, the hills and the rivers and to beat the heat. Doda, July 24 (ANI): Indian security forces busted a militant hideout in Kashmir_s Doda district and seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition from the area. A joint operation was launched by a branch of Indian army, Rashtriya Rifles, and state police after intelligence inputs. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Mohammed Sharif Chouhan said it was an old militant hideout which was busted. During the raid, the security forces also seized country-made pistol, two country-made guns, PIKA ammunition, grenades and various other ammunitions.
