Paramilitary force organises camp in Maoist-hit areas of Jharkhand

Latehar, Feb 15 (ANI): Paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) organised a health camp in Maoist-affected villages of Jharkhand. CRPF personnel, as a part of civic action programme, distributed free medicines and utensils to the poor in 200 Maoist-hit villages in Latehar district. According to villagers, they are constantly under Maoists attack threat but are relieved after a police station was built in Herhanj area. Meanwhile, CRPF doctor Anil Kumar Singh said that their work was to provide proper medical assistance to villagers. The rebels have operated for decades across a wide swath of central and eastern India, and grew in strength during recent times in areas where poor, tribal villagers came into conflict with mining companies seeking resources for industrialisation.
