Security personnel intensify combing operation in Kashmir after encounter

Kupwara, Aug 01 (ANI): Security forces intensified a combing operation in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday to trace the militants hiding in a forest area. Two militants were killed in an encounter in Keran village of Kupwara district on Thursday evening. Bus accident kills five in Kashmir

Udhampur, July 31 (ANI): A bus plunged into a gorge in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, killing five people and injuring several others on Thursday. The accident occurred in Dubligali area of the district, when the driver lost control of the bus packed with local passengers. The injured were immediately shifted to a hospital. Police in Kashmir recover body of Pakistan national

Poonch, July 31 (ANI): The police in Jammu and Kashmir recovered a dead body of a Pakistan national from Poonch district in the state. Assistant Sub-Inspector, Poonch police, Mohammed Shafi Khan, said they recovered the body from the drain near the Line of Control (LOC) at the border. Khan said the police brought the body to the mortuary at night and in the morning they were able to recognise the dead only after they received a call from Pakistan to claim the body. After offering prayers on the occasion of Eid-al-Fitr, Muslims came out in droves in Srinagar to protest against Israel. The security personnel chased and fired at the protesters. In retaliation, the protesters pelted stones at the security personnel. Meanwhile, Muslims who congregated at the New Delhi's historic mosque, Jama Masjid, also protested against Israel. International calls for a ceasefire have grown as the death toll has mounted in the worst flare-up of Israeli-Palestinian violence in almost two years, sparked by the murder of three Israeli teenagers and revenge killing of a Palestinian youth. Army recovers huge cache of arms and ammunitions from militant hideout in Kashmir

Baramulla, July 27 (ANI): Indian security forces busted a militant hideout in Kashmir's Baramulla district and seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition from the area on Sunday. A joint operation was launched by a branch of Indian army, Rashtriya Rifles, and provincial police after intelligence inputs. During the raid, the security forces seized AK-47, two magazines which consist of 225 rounds, 19 rounds of heavy calibre, 13 UBGL round, one communication set, three Chinese grenade, two rockets, three detonators and various other ammunitions. Recovered arms and ammunition were destroyed soon after the seizure. Tibetan artists said it was an effort made to gain attention and letting people know about the atrocities committed on Tibetans through various forms of contemporary art. Tibetan artists like Bhuchung Sonam, writer in-exile said that every art expression is important because it conveys the story in its own special way and attracts the world audience. Meanwhile, a tourist from Colombia, Sisa said it was a good idea to convey the message through various art forms and makes it easy for common people to understand what exactly was happening in Tibet. Tibetans in exile in India initiated in different waves. The first set of Tibetans fled in 1959 following the 14th Dalai Lama's self-exile in Dharamsala in India.
