New Delhi, Jan 25 (ANI): A number of political and corporate leaders arrived at President's House to share table with US President Barack Obama in tonight's banquet. As the dinner hosted by President Pranab Mukherjee in honour of US President Barack Obama at the Rashtrapati Bhavan started, the chief guest for this year's Republic Day celebrations, Obama arrived at the venue with magnificent American First Lady Michelle Obama. Obama dressed in tuxedo while Michelle in elegant floral blue dress were greeted by President Mukherjee at the gate. Followed by the guest of honour, came other VVIPs which included Former President APJ Abdul Kalam, Union ministers Harsh Vardhan, Arun Jaitley, Venkaiah Naidu, Sushma Swaraj, Rajnath Singh among others. Mukherjee said that enacting laws without discussions “breaches the trust” reposed by people and is not good for democracy. Calling 2014 as a significant year while 2015 as a year of hope, he said that the 21st century is in full grasp of India. The president also wished the citizens for giving a mandate which brought a stable government at the centre. PM Modi makes US President Obama's visit to Hyderabad House special with tea under a 'shamiana'

New Delhi, Jan 25 (ANI): After working lunch, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Barack Obama on Saturday took a stroll at the picturesque Hyderabad House garden. The two leaders apparently had strategic discussions during the stroll. Following that, Modi and Obama had tea together seated under a 'shamiana' at the garden and had conversation for almost 10 minutes. PM Narendra Modi pours tea for Obama as they sat and talk at the special shamiana in the Hyderabad House lawns. Earlier, Prime Minister Modi presented the 'official report of the Constituent Assembly debates' to President Obama. Meanwhile, the finest of Indian dishes are on offer at the banquet hosted by President Pranab Mukherjee in honour of his US counterpart, with over 250 guests invited. Some of the dishes expected to be served are galouti kebabs, soufiyan fish tikka, trout, chicken malai tikka, stir fried broccoli, mustard fish curry, gustaba, mutton rogan josh, veg hakka noodles and chicken korma. Obama reaches Rashtrapati Bhawan, receives Guard of Honour

New Delhi, Jan 25 (ANI): US President Barack Obama on Sunday reached the Rashtrapati Bhawan and was given a ceremonial reception by President Pranab Mukherjee. President Obama was accorded a ceremonial reception at the forecourt of the Rashtrapati Bhavan, with a grand welcome ceremony followed by the Guard of Honour, where the battalion was led by a woman officer. The US President also received a 21-gun salute. National anthems of both nations were also played to welcome the President. President Obama also then, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers Manohar Parrikar, Arun Jaitley, Venkaiah Naidu, Sushma Swaraj and Rajnath Singh, along with Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung. President Mukherjee and PM Modi condoles passing away of Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah

New Delhi, Jan 23 (ANI): President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday condoled the passing away of Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah. In his condolence message on Twitter, President Mukherjee said, "Heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of Saudi Arabia over the sad demise of King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia. In King Abdullah's passing, Saudi Arabia had lost a beloved leader, India a close friend and world, an elder statesman. King Abdullah had genuine warmth and affection for India and our people, was personally committed to improving bilateral ties," he added. Earlier in day Prime Minister Modi had also condoled the death of King Abdullah and said, "In King Abdullah, we have lost an important voice who left a lasting impact on his country.
