President Mukherjee addresses Budget Session in Lok Sabha

New Delhi, Feb 23 (ANI): President Pranab Mukherjee addressed the Parliament as the Budget Session in Lok Sabha began on Monday. Mukherjee said 'Sab ka Saath, Sab ka Vikas' is the government's fundamental view. He appealed to all the Members of the Parliament to spend 50 percent of MPLAD fund on the 'Swachh Bharat' mission. The Budget Session contains 44 items of financial, legislative and non-legislative business. The first part of the Budget Session will continue till March 20 while the second part will commence after a month-long break from April 20 and conclude on May 8. The Rail Budget will be presented on February 26, Economic Survey on February 27 and General Budget on February 28. Feb 23, 2015

Greenpeace Activist Priya Pillai refuses to give undertaking to government to fly abroad

New Delhi, Feb 20 (ANI): Greenpeace activist Priya Pillai, who was offloaded from a flight to London at New Delhi airport last month, told court that she would not give an undertaking to the central government as a pre-condition to allow her to travel abroad. Appearing before the Delhi High Court, Pillai said that it was her fundamental right to voice her thoughts. Pillais counsel, Indira Jaising said that the court has reserved its judgment. Feb 20, 2015
