Security arrangements and traffic management in place ahead of PM Modi's 'Abhinandan Rally'

New Delhi, Jan 10 (ANI): Security was tightened around the Ramlila Ground on Saturday in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally at the venue in the national capital. The Delhi Traffic Police have also made elaborate arrangements to ensure the smooth movement of traffic. Modi is to address "Abhinandan Rally" which will be attended by around 1 lakh people. PM will formally kick off BJP's campaign for the upcoming Delhi Assembly polls on Saturday at the mega rally. Top leaders including BJP president Amit Shah, Union ministers Arun Jaitely, M Venkaiah Naidu and Piyush Goyal will attend the rally. Besides, chief ministers of Haryana, Jharkhand and Maharashtra will share the dais with the prime minister. The traffic police has advised commuters going to New Delhi Railway Station, Old Delhi Railway Station and ISBT to start early with sufficient time in hand for absorbing possible delays in the routes. Coal Minister says coal workers have called off their strike

New Delhi/ Dhanbad, Jan 08 (ANI): Union Coal Minister Piyush Goyal said the workers had called off their strike after the meeting with union leaders. State-owned Coal India Limited struggled to produce and ship less than half of its daily target on the first day of a five-day worker strike that began on Tuesday (January 06), hampering government efforts to reform the country's coal industry and ease its power crisis. Govt launches portal to enable e auction of 24 coal mines

New Delhi, Dec 25 (ANI): The government on Thursday launched a portal to enable the e-auction of 24 coal mines to commence. Paving the way for start of an auction process, the government on Wednesday had approved re-promulgation of the coal ordinance and necessary guidelines for mine allocations and said the coal-rich states stand to earn Rs 7 lakh crore over the next 30 years. Public sector units collaborate to revive shut fertiliser units

New Delhi, Dec 24 (ANI): Four major Public Sector Units (PSUs) signed joint venture agreements on Wednesday in an effort to increase urea output and revive closed fertilizer units. The four PSUs - GAIL (Gas Authority of India Limited), Coal India Limited (CIL), Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers (RCF) and Fertilizer Corporation of India (FCIL) - signed agreements in New Delhi to set up an Integrated Coal Gasification cum Fertilizer and Ammonium Nitrate complex at Talcher in Odisha. Coal Minister Piyush Goyal, who was also present for agreement singing, said that the deadline for starting the units was March 31, 2019. Chemicals and Fertilisers Minister, Ananth Kumar, hoped that the country would soon start exporting urea. Residents, tourists welcome snowfall in Himachal Pradesh

Shimla, Dec 14 (ANI): Residents and tourists in Himachal Pradesh welcomed the fresh spell of snowfall with much delight on Sunday (December 14). Heavy snowfall was seen in the hill towns of Manali and Shimla which are popular tourist destinations for Indians and foreigners alike. A resident of Shimla, Gulzar Ahmed, who works as a porter, welcomed snowfall as it will bring business to the city. Tourists were seen enjoying the snowfall and throwing snowballs on each other. A tourist from Punjab, Dimple Goyal, said the place looks heaven due to white sheet of snow everywhere. Located in the tropics, most of the northern India witnesses very hot summers and largely temperate winters.
