New Delhi, Jan 30 (ANI): Bharatiya Janta Party on Friday posed five new questions to Aam Aadmi Party, as part of the series of five questions BJP promised to ask AAP every day from 29 January to 5 February ahead of the Delhi polls. Before asking the questions, Commerce and Industry Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that some questions may have been old but are still unanswered and hence have been raised by the party. On AAP asking BJP to organise a public debate between BJP's CM candidate Kiran Bedi and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, Sitharaman said BJP never runs away from debate, the DNA of AAP is to spit and run away. New Delhi, Jan 30 (ANI): Former UPA minister and senior Congress leader Jayanthi Natarajan on Friday resigned from the party alleging that Rahul Gandhi interfered in the working of the ministry. Condemning the statement, Congress leaders Digvijaya Singh and Shobha Oza said that the party leadership, be it Sonia Gandhi or Rahul Gandhi, never interfered in the decision making of the ministries. Market along India-Bangladesh border inaugurated to boost trade

Agartala, Jan 14 (ANI): Trade Minister Nirmala Sitharaman along with her Bangladeshi counterpart Tofaile Ahmed inaugurated third border market or 'haat' along the border in Tripura to boost trade between the two countries. The market is set up within five kilometres radius at the border, which will enhance local trade and people-to-people contact. Sitharaman said that the market would build better relations and benefit small purchasers. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in October 2010 on Border Haats and Border Trade along the India-Bangladesh border. Meanwhile, Ahmed said he was grateful to Indian government for awarding duty free, quota free market access in almost all the items except two-alcohol and tobacco. Hindu Women Conference discusses role of fair sex in Indian Politics

New Delhi, Nov 22 (ANI): Hindu Women Conference, a part of World Hindu Congress being held in New Delhi, on Saturday discussed the role that the fair sex can play in Indian politics and urged them to emerge as powerful as their counterparts were in ancient times. The three-day event began on Friday and will culminate on Sunday. Addressing the gathering, Commerce and Industry Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that politics is an open box of which women have always been a part since ancient times. Sitharaman encouraged the women present at the conference not to keep a low profile in the field of politics, otherwise they will be lost. Sitharaman meets delegates from Tatarstan, Japan to discuss free trade agreements

New Delhi, Nov 19 (ANI): A Russian delegation led by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met Union Commerce Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi. The delegation which is in India will form a Joint Working Group (JWG) of the two countries to work on ways to strengthen trade in fertilisers, chemicals and pharmaceuticals between India and Tatarstan. Meanwhile, two delegations from Japan, including one headed by the Chief Executive Officer Of Mitsui and Co. Ltd. and Chairman of Japan-India Business Co-operation Committee, Masami Iijima and Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) headed by Hiroyuki Ishige also met Sitharaman. The delegation is visiting India for the purpose of the free trade agreement being negotiated by the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) which would help India boost its commerce and manufacturing.
