New Delhi, Dec 24 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 71.12 points down to stand at 21,029.91. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 16.95 points down to stand at 6,267.55. Gitanjali Gems and Century Tex were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 16.29% and 6.68% along with Apollo Tyres and ING Vysya Bank with an increase of 7.87% and 5.13% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include J and K Bank and Tata Power with a decrease of 4.66% and 2.98% along with SSLT and Hindustan Zinc with a decrease of 2.46% and 2.37% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is down 5.49 points at 12,379.68 while the banking sector is down 64.12 points at 12,929.34 and the realty sector is up 1.37 points at 1,452.13. New Delhi, Dec 18 (ANI): Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Raghuram Rajan surprised the financial markets by keeping the repo rate, or the main lending rate, unchanged at 7.75 per cent. Rajan unexpectedly kept the country's policy interest rate on hold despite calling current inflation too high, citing the prospect of easing retail prices and its concerns about the weak domestic economy.
