Kashmiri separatist slams PDP for having double standards over AFSPA

Srinagar/ New Delhi, Feb 27 (ANI): Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Yasin Malik slammed chief of People's Democratic Party (PDP), Mufti Mohammad Sayeed for double standards. AFSPA gives security forces, battling militancy in the troubled regions of Kashmir and the northeast, sweeping powers to search arrest or shoot people. BJP-PDP have formed an alliance to work out a common programme that focuses on welfare and leaves aside traditionally contentious issues, including the size of the military's presence in the state. Malik added that their group was not afraid of Hindu nationalist group Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and BJP because their policies were straight forward policy. Meanwhile, Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju said in New Delhi that the government has not yet decided on the scrapping of the act from the state. Feb 27, 2015
