New Delhi, Oct 15 (ANI): MEA Spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin said issues between New Delhi and Islamabad would be resolved through dialogue and there was no place for third party after Pakistan had sought United Nations intervention in the wake of border shelling in disputed Kashmir region. Akbaruddin added that India would not tolerate violence at the de-facto border dividing two nuclear armed neighbours. Further, he said that it seemed that Pakistan was not interested in a serious dialogue. Since the beginning of October, Pakistan and India have been firing mortars and machine-guns across the border, leading to the highest death toll in a decade among civilians on both sides. Schools reopen in Kashmir as shelling stops at border

Rajouri, Oct 13 (ANI): Schools in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir have reopened after shelling stopped at the de-facto border between India and Pakistan. Schools along the border had been closed down amid continuous shelling. School head, Raees Ahmed, said that with the shelling having stopped, students are now coming to school. Meanwhile, a student, Habiba Kausar, said that peace should be maintained along the border so that education does not suffer. 20,000 Indian civilians have fled their homes in the lowlands around India's Jammu region to escape the fighting, taking refuge in schools and relief camps. Nine Pakistani and eight Indian civilians have been killed since security forces from both sides started heavy shelling more than a week ago along a 200-km (125-mile) stretch of border in Kashmir.
