Narendra Modi to attend 'Ganga Aarti' in Varanasi today

Varanasi, May 17 (ANI): A day after the declaration of Lok Sabha election results, BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi will on Saturday visit Varanasi to thank people for their support. Varanasi is the second Lok Sabha constituency from which he won handsomely. Party leader said that Modi will fly into the temple town from New Delhi after the BJP's parliamentary board meeting and will reach Varanasi in the evening. He will proceed straight to the Kashi Vishwanath temple and then address a public rally before taking part in the Ganga Arti on the bank of the river Ganga. May 17, 2014

BSE closes points 216.14 up on May 16

New Delhi, May 16 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 216.14 points up to stand at 24,102.52. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 79.85 points up to stand at 7,198.05. Indiabulls Real Estate and Sobha Dev were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 19.00% and 11.99% along with Punjab National Bank and Reliance Capital with an increase of 11.77% and 11.05% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include Financial Technology and Tata Steel with a decrease of 5.00% and 4.68% along with Dabur India and Cadila Health with a decrease of 3.83% and 3.64% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is up 124.26 points at 14,230.62 while the banking sector is up 714.62 points at 16,994.36 and the realty sector is up 90.41 points at 1,605.57. Anti-corruption squad raids police official's residence in Bhopal

Bhopal, May 15 (ANI): A team of anti-corruption officials raided the residence of Inspector General of Police (IG) Mayank Jain in Bhopal of Madhya Pradesh on Thursday and unearthed bank documents and other disproportionate assets. The raid was conducted following a complaint filed against Jain for amassing illegal property and documents. The Deputy Superintendent of Police, anti-corruption team (Lokayukta), S. S. Udawat, said investigations are taking place. Officials also said that no jewellery was found during the raid. The anti-corruption officials, in the last few months, have carried out raids at the residence of various officials, who have been accused of amassing illegal wealth. May 15, 2014
