New Delhi, June 5 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 213.68 points up to stand at 25,019.51. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 71.85 points up to stand at 7,474.10. Havells India and BPCL were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 11.11% and 6.95% along with SAIL and Godrej Consumer Products Ltd. with an increase of 6.78% and 6.72% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include Max India and UCO Bank with a decrease of 6.30% and 2.16 % along with Motherson Sumi and Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd. with a decrease of 2.15% and 1.70% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is up 114.69 points at 14,956.43 while the banking sector is down 69.04 points at 17,500.64 and the realty sector is up 13.83 points at 2,026.36. Surat, June 05 (ANI): Traders in Gujarat pinned hopes on business-friendly Prime Minister Narendra Modi for revival of diamond industry. Diamond traders said that they were hopeful that their concerns of turnover taxes and relief packages for diamond workers will be addressed by the Modi-led government. Shortage of labour is affecting cutting and polishing jobs in Surat's diamond industry and the skyrocketing prices of raw diamonds is a key factor leading to thousands of workers moving away from the diamond industry to other businesses. Muslims suffer because of absence of Uniform civil code: Press Council Chief Justice M Katju

New Delhi, June 01 (ANI): Press Council of India Chairman Markandey Katju came out in support of Uniform civil code and said that the absence of the same lead to suffering of the Muslim community. He said that there is no modernization of their personal law which depletes the conditions of the community even further. Katju also said that due to vote bank politics, Uniform Civil Code has not been made a law till the time.
