Army firing range of 'Tosa Maidan' in Kashmir to be transformed into tourist resort

Budgam, Oct 23 (ANI): The famous meadows of Kashmir's 'Tosa Maidan,' till recently used as a firing range of the Indian Army echoing with gunshots, will soon be transformed into a spot of tourist attraction. Tosa Maidan, also known as the 'King of Meadows', is situated in the Pir Panjal range in Budgam district. Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, said that the Army's lease for the field firing range in Tosa Maidan in Budgam district will not be renewed. Tosa Maidan was leased to Indian Army for setting up a firing range in 1964. Named 'Operation Fallah' the Army has totally cleared off the unexploded shells and transformed the Tosa Maidan into a clear zone of meadows and forested area within a record time span of three months. Politicos slam Pakistan Peoples Party's decision to protest over Kashmir in London

New Delhi /Mumbai, Oct 21 (ANI): Indian politicians on Tuesday dismissed Pakistan Peoples Party's (PPP) move to protest over the longstanding issue of Kashmir as meaningless. Indian passengers complain of delay in visa by Pak for cross border travel

Poonch, Oct 21 (ANI): Indian passengers who intend to go to Pakistan are compelled to prolong their wait of meeting their beloved ones as the process of granting visit permit clearance from Chakan-da-Bagh border post in Kashmir continues to be delayed. A fresh batch of 32 Indians had crossed over LoC (line of control) towards PoK (Pakistan occupied Kashmir) to see their blood relations. This batch has been allowed to enter PoK after a gap of four months as Pakistan authorities cleared the list of 32 Indians to cross over the disputed border via Poonch Rawalakot bus service. While Poonch is in Kashmir, Rawalkot is in PoK. Several families have been divided and forced to live on either side of the border.
