Suspected ISIL militants seize Iraqi City of Mosul

Iraq, June 10 (ANI): Insurgents, reportedly fighters of Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) assumed full control of Mosul, Iraq's second-largest city on Tuesday. According to sources, after seize of Mosul, Terrorist organization ISIL took control over all of Mosul's government facilities, airports, central bank holding billions of Iraqi currencies. The seize came after days of heavy clashes with government forces, wherein at least 30 people were killed in a double bombing which targetted the offices of a Kurdish political party in the northern Iraqi town of Tuz Khurmato on Monday itself. A car bomb blew up at a checkpoint near the local headquarters of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) party, before a truck packed with explosives was detonated beside a wall late Monday. Shimla/ New Delhi/ Hyderabad, June 09 (ANI): Himachal Pradesh CM, Virbhadra Singh, on Monday ordered probe against the authorities for releasing water from a dam without issuing a warning which swept away 24 students. The engineering students of a private college, VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology of Hyderabad went missing on Sunday when they were standing on the bank of Beas river near Thalot on Manali-Kiratpur Highway to click photographs. The water of the river suddenly increased following its release from the reservoir of 126 MW Larji hydropower project. Varanasi/ Allahabad/ Haridwar, June 08 (ANI): Thousands of devotees converged at banks of holy river Ganges to offer prayers to mark Hindu festival, ‘Ganga Dussehra’, which commemorates birth of the river on earth. Devout Hindus in Varanasi took a holy dip in River Ganges and prayed for their ancestors. Priests performed traditional Hindu rituals and chanted hymns on the banks of the river. Women and girls offered prayers for the well being of their families. Devotees assembled on banks from the crack of the dawn to take a holy dip and sought the blessings of the Hindu goddess Ganga to get rid of their sins.
