Fierce gun battle on between security forces and militants in Kashmir

Handwara, Oct 28 (ANI): A fierce gun battle broke out between security forces and militants in Handwara district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday (October 28). Three militants are suspected to be hiding in a village in the district. As per media reports, Indian army launched a joint search operation with the police on Monday night (October 27). The militants fired upon the security forces after which the forces retaliated, reports said. No casualties have been reported so far. Oct 28, 2014

Sopore, Oct 28 (ANI): Police busted a militant module by arresting two members in Jammu and Kashmir, said a senior officer. Superintendent of Police, Abdul Qayoom, said the module was set up by Pakistan-based militant outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba and used to provide logistics to the extremists in Sopore district. Militants have been frequently attacking security bases in Kashmir since the 1990s, when there was a full-blown insurgency against Indian rule in a region over which India and Pakistan fought two of their three wars. Gaya, Oct 28 (ANI): Vietnam's Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and Chief Minister of Bihar Jitan Ram Manjhi held talks to promote tourism between the two countries. Addressing a news conference, Manjhi said the two leaders held talks on establishing direct air route between Vietnam and Bihar. Manjhi also said that Dung has agreed upon organising a Vietnam business conclave in Bihar and vice-versa. Meanwhile, Dung said the strategic ties between the countries have benefited the world. The two also agreed upon further strengthening ties in farming, fisheries, food processing, education and tourism sector, apart from improving facilities for tourists visiting Buddhist centre of Bodh Gaya in Bihar. Vietnam's Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung arrives in India for two-day visit

Gaya, Oct 27 (ANI): Vietnam's Prime Minister, Nguyen Tan Dung, arrived in India on Monday to enhance ties and regional cooperation and began his two-day visit by landing in Bihar. Dung, who was accompanied by a 50-member delegation, was received by Bihar Chief Minister, Jitan Ram Manjhi, in Gaya city. During his visit in the state, Dung will pay homage at Mahabodhi temple in holy town of Bodh Gaya, where Lord Buddha is believed to have attained enlightenment. He would also visit the Vietnam Buddhism Pagoda in the town. Both the countries could sign at least a dozen pacts to boost cooperation in sectors like energy, infrastructure, trade and tourism. Dung will hold talks with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi, President Pranab Mukherjee, Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj and other leaders. Srinagar, Oct 27 (ANI): Separatist party in Kashmir, Hurriyat Conference called for a complete shutdown in the state on Monday (October 27) in protest of Indian troops landing on Kashmir soil 67 years ago. The Hurriyat Conference also demanded for complete demilitarisation of the state. All shops and business establishments remained closed and traffic was off the roads in the capital city of Srinagar. Ramban, Oct 26 (ANI): Landslide in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir disrupted vehicular movement on the national highway. The big boulders and soil besides big pine trees rolled down on to the road in Batote areas that blocked vehicular traffic. Efforts are being made at war level to clear the road for at least one-way traffic by the General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF) men and machinery.
