Tri-color sandwich Ingredients Bread Fresh grated Coconut - 1 cup A few Mint leaves A few Coriander leaves Green chilli - 1 Red chilli - 4 Tamarind - 1 piece Salt to taste Method: 1. In a blender add Mint leaves, Green chilli, Coriander leaves, Fresh grated Coconut, Tamarind & salt. 2. Add Water gradually while grinding it. Mint chutney is ready. 3. Next, In a blender add Red chilli, Tamarind, Fresh grated Coconut & salt. 4. Add Water gradually while grinding it. Red chilli Coconut chutney is ready. 5. Spread butter in the sandwich to reduce spice if required. 6. Layer three slices of bread. Spread mint chutney in the bottom layer and red chilly coconut chutney in the top layer respectively representing the colors of the national flag. Varanasi, Aug 12 (ANI): People staying near the temples situated on the banks of River Ganges flowing through Varanasi city of Uttar Pradesh left their homes as flood waters streamed in through their houses. Residents claim that rains in the last four to five days have led to increase in water levels of Ganges by 20 feet. A priest and a resident of Varanasi, Prabhu Sahrani said even ferry services in the River Ganges has stopped since past week due to fear of drowning. Tribal people in flood-hit Odisha blame authorities for inaction

Cuttack, Aug 11 (ANI): Tribal people in flood-hit Odisha have blamed the state authorities for not providing any relief to them even as the situation continues to remain grim in most of the places. Reportedly, the death toll climbed to 45 and over 3.29 lakh people were affected as floods devastated low lying areas of Odisha. In Cuttack district, a flood survivor, Brundaban Azad, said the authorities were not doing anything to prevent diseases. Though the floodwater receded in some place, 20000 people from 445 villages of Cuttack are still marooned. People complained they did not get any relief from the state government, adding there is no drinking water facility and they are bound to drink contaminated water. Aug 11, 2014

Children stranded in swollen river in Uttarkashi rescued

Uttarkashi, Aug 11 (ANI): Police rescued a 10-year-old child who was swept away by the torrential flow of the river Assi Ganga in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. The child was bathing in the river with his three friends when there was a sudden increase in the water level due to rain. While the three other children escaped, one child was carried away around 100 metres due to the strong currents. Some women working nearby spotted the child stuck between the rocks and informed the police, who, with the help of fire workers, successfully brought out the child. Aug 11, 2014

The snake boat race, also known as the Nehru trophy boat race heralded the tourist season in Kerala Kerala Governor Sheila Dikshit flagged off the boat race. As many as 72 boats, including 22 snake boats, country boats and tableaux participated in this year's event. Large number of villagers and tourist gathered to witness the spectacular water event.
