India, Australia seeking early closure to civil nuke pact: PM Modi

Canberra, Nov 18 (ANI): Prime Ministers of India and Australia said on Tuesday that they were seeking early closure to a civil nuclear agreement that will give Australia a chance to participate in one of the worlds most safe and secure nuclear energy programmes. India and Australia on Tuesday inked five Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs). The agreements signed include one on social security. The other pacts signed concern the transfer of sentenced persons, combating narcotics trafficking and developing police cooperation, cooperation in the field of arts and culture and lastly in the field of tourism. A similar example is seen during the Urs of Sai Ganji Baba in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, where devotees including Hindu and Muslims pay obeisance to saint and seek his blessings. During the Urs, religious scholars threw light on the teachings of the saint, while devotees remain busy chanting hymns and pray for peace and prosperity in the region. A free community kitchen is also installed where free food is served to devotees, who take the same as blessings from the shrine. Srinagar, Nov 17 (ANI): A BSF trooper, posted outside Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah_s residence on Monday accidentally opened fire from his automatic rifle, police said. According to reports, the BSF trooper was immediately detained and disarmed after being identified and is being questioned for further information. Tension spread in the high-security Gupkar road area as people believed that the attack had taken place at the chief minister_s residence. Meanwhile, Abdullah posted a tweet expressing full faith in his security force despite the incident.
